The aim of the academic paper writing seminar is for students to acquire the necessary skills for writing an academic paper.
This seminar is mainly for students in their final semesters who are going to deliver a lecture or write their thesis. It is customized for groups of students and includes training in the handling of information tools, literature search strategies and the management of various information resources.
To complete the course, the student is required to attend a three-week cycle (3-hour modules). Each module includes: Module A – Introduction to the Library and its services (Interlibrary Loan, DSpace, Kallipos). – Development of search strategies in academic libraries and international websites (Google Scholar, Academia Edu, Research Gate, Project Muse, etc.) – Evaluation of information sources, print and electronic – Plagiarism – Copyright. Module B – Organization of the work. Defining the topic, structure of the work, evaluation of sources. – Selection of a bibliographic system for citing references. – Presentation of the most important bibliographic systems (Harvard, APA, Arithmetic/French) – Final review of the paper. Module C – Abstract and presentation of the Thesis. On completion of the seminar, the participants will carry out a short written exercise.
