A series of lectures elaborate in depth on issues related to bioclimatic and environmental design and specifically sustainability, climatology & urban microclimate, thermal comfort, daylighting, “green” installations & renewable energy resources and energy upgrade of existing buildings. All these issues are quantitatively examined and assessed with the updated and extensively used energy modeling and simulation digital program (Design Builder/Energy Plus). Analysis and evaluation of all the parameters and integrated systems that contribute and affect the environmental and energy behavior as well as the building function is performed with the modeling and parametric simulations in order to improve thermal and visual comfort conditions and the overall energy and bioclimatic performance of the building under study, with the reduction of conventional energy consumption for heating, cooling and lighting.
