The course focuses on the complex interrelationships between the text and the space of the city. The central research question is: how can we creatively relate the city as an archive to spatiality and narrativity, with the aim of enriching the available tools and methodologies of architectural design?
The course focuses on the complex interrelationships between the text and the space of the city. The central research question is: how can we creatively relate the city as an archive to spatiality and narrativity, with the aim of enriching the available tools and methodologies of architectural design? Using the latest literature sources, the object of the new experimental course is to explore the possible conflation of literary narrative with advanced cartographic methods, in order to construct original conceptual architectures of the city. Through interdisciplinary explorations of the boundaries between architectural creation, literary theory, philosophy and geocriticism, the course will attempt to merge the hidden spatiality of the text with the latent or potential narrativity of the city.
