The course will attempt to present issues related to the process of composition, focusing mainly on the stage where the idea is sought as a starting point, as the “starting point” of the creative process.
Focusing on the investigation of the way the multiple and often enigmatic versions of the “principle” that initiates architectural composition are clarified, questions will be raised that highlight the relationship between thought and practice, method, the role and impact of representational tools. He will insist especially on the role of the latter, as it is crucial, since the nature of the tool affects the relationship between thought and action at every stage of the creative process.
The course will include lectures and presentations that will attempt to cover a wide range of discussions not only in architectural composition, but also in the field of arts (visual arts, literature, music) with appropriate guest speakers.
Finally, in addition to the lectures and discussions, an experimental exercise on the drawing board will be tested during the course.
