The course focuses on open public spaces and the elements of nature and culture within cities. Emphasis is placed on identifying and highlighting them, with particular attention to their relationship with the urban environment and the quality of life of residents/visitors. The main objective of the course is to deal with issues of methods, techniques and criteria for the study and assessment of the presence of forms of public space and elements of natural and cultural heritage in the urban environment. Special attention is given to the systematic approach to issues of (re)planning of natural and cultural spaces, in order to organise networks of public open spaces within the urban fabric, with respect for their role in nature, landscape and urban quality and resilience.
