– Relationship between space and lifestyle. Similarities and contrasts of different ways of life and their reflection in space.
– Typologies of housing and the reality of modern lifestyle. Private-public relationship and the diffusion of life in them. The gradation of privacy, the relationship between personal and public spaces.
– Residence and subject matter. Relationship between private space and objects. Observation, recording and evaluation of the premises of the dwelling and objects of daily use.
– Materials and construction as elements of an integrated formulation of form. Bioclimatic consideration of the building envelope and its adaptation to environmental conditions. Importance of expressing the materiality of the building. Issues of selection of construction materials, their combination and processing. In the general framework of the specifications and methodology of the course, a gender perspective is introduced, incorporating the gender differences of the users in the formulation of the building programme and in the design.
