The course studies the section as a compositional tool in architectural design. In particular, it examines the way in which the vertical section can produce architecture as an opening means of investigation. At the same time, it examines the intersecting paths of the history of philosophy and architectural theory and practice. Students are asked to study a renowned building of international architecture, the section of which is an integral part of its compositional structure.
