Short CV:
Konstantinos Kostopoulos holds a Diploma in Architectural Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens Greece (1990), Master of Architecture from the University of Southern California (1992); and a Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education (2018). A registered architect in Greece since 1990, has been teaching building technology & design in various universities in Greece and abroad, balancing his time between academic and professional work.
He joined the NTUA School of Architecture in 2018, and he is currently the Head of the department of Technology. From 2013 to 2018 he taught architectural structures and construction at the University of Nottingham in Ningbo China and served as Course Director of BEng Architecture RIBA Part-I. His research interests include architectural education, façade engineering, energy building retrofit.
His professional practice includes residential work, multi-unit housing and mixed-use; Collaboratively took part in competitions, winning first-place award for the Boeotia Prefecture building (Greece 1988-1989) and a commendation at the international competition ‘Zephyr’. Attended advanced academic training in building physics & sustainable technologies at the UoA and worked as a Building Energy Auditor. He has significant experience in building management and construction, Athens International airport & sports facilities (2004 Summer Olympics), logistics facilities and energy retrofit of buildings.
