Short CV:
Irini Micha has been teaching since 2000 at the undergraduate and postgraduate programme, first as an invited or external Lecturer and since January 2011 as a member of the permanent teaching staff in NTUA. Her courses concentrate on urban analysis and planning, urban theory and policy, gender and space. Her research and publications focus on contemporary urban theories, security policies in cities, meaning and theories of public space and mass culture, techniques and discourse analysis of urban and media representations, and most recently housing policies for asylum seekers, children’s geographies and place-based education. She is member of the Gender and Space Research Group of the School of Architecture, NTUA since 2008, and from 2017 member of the Editorial Committee of the biannual review on spatial issues Geographies.
